SRI LANKA

  • From 2002-2019 we treated 9,000+ children and have provided over 1 million in charitable contributions.

  • DCI has been working on the island of Sri Lanka since 2008. At first, DCI worked in Sri Lanka by taking teams of volunteer dental professionals to provide dental services around the island.  We worked in schools and children’s homes around the country reaching many rural areas that have never had dental work done.

  • DCI operates a one year residential Dental Surgery Assistant (DSA) Training Program in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Girls, with little or no formal education, survivors of tragedy and poverty, often abused and neglected, are recruited from children’s homes and given an opportunity to train as dental assistants. Upon successful completion of the course the girls are employed in hospitals and clinics across Sri Lanka.

  • We hit our goal of 100 students graduating in 10 years for our DSA Program.  We have graduated 108 students in 10 years!

ECUADOR

  • To date, we have treated 5000+ children in Ecuador and have provided over $1 million in charitable contributions.

  • DCI has been working in Cuenca, Ecuador since 2009. From 2009-2023, DCI has taken a team of volunteer dental professionals and non-dental professionals to provide dental services to rural school children in the Andes. Since 2023, DCI supports a project in the Andes multiple times a year. The local dentists and staff in Ecuador that we worked with for over 10 years fulfill the outreaches to this area with DCI’s financial support.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by Cyclone Ditwah. The storm has caused severe flooding, landslides, and damage to thousands of homes across the island. Many communities are currently displaced, and relief efforts are ongoing to provide shelter, food, and clean water. We are thankful that all of our current students and staff are safe, but some of our former students have been impacted by the storm. Please keep them and all those affected in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.Let’s continue to pray for safety, healing, and recovery for Sri Lanka. 🙏🏽(Photo-NY Times) ...
