From a young age, Kaushi knew she had to rely on herself. Until she was 10, she lived with her mother, grandmother, and sister, but everything changed when her mother left for Kuwait to work as a housemaid. Without another option, Kaushi was placed in a children’s home, separated from the life she once knew. She never met her father and had to learn to be independent early on.

Despite the challenges, Kaushi never stopped dreaming of a better future. She always wanted to become a nurse, but without the right opportunities, that dream seemed impossible—until she found the DCI Dental Surgery Assistant Program. Now, at 18, she finally has a fresh start and a chance to build the future she’s always longed for.

Born Hindu but now Christian, Kaushi speaks both Tamil and Sinhala. She is eager to learn, work, and one day save enough to build a home of her own. For her, this program is more than just career training—it’s her way forward, her opportunity to take control of her life and create stability.

In her free time, Kaushi finds comfort in books—escaping into new worlds and imagining the endless possibilities ahead. With each new page, she reminds herself that her story is still being written, and the best chapters are yet to come.
