Our Work2019-07-11T18:00:13+00:00

With generous assistance from the Clark County Commissioners, DCI opened its doors in 2005. Previously occupied by the UNLV School of Dentistry, our clinic is a 4500 square foot facility housing 10 dental operatories. Our staff of dentists include board certified pediatric dentists and orthodontist, as well as general dentists. They provide high quality comprehensive dental care and braces to children. Laughing gas and conscious sedation is offered in office, and general anesthesia is provided at local surgery centers. DCI serves primarily the uninsured and working poor, striving to increase access to care by providing low cost affordable services.

Our goal is to help children maintain optimal oral health throughout their lifetimes. DCI accepts most insurances including Medicaid, and is a preferred provider for most dental insurance plans. We also offer sliding scale discounts for children based on family income. We offer an affordable low cost fee schedule for everyone. Our Doctors and staff are kind and gentle and look forward to making you smile.

From infants to teens, we specialize in gentle dentistry and beautiful smiles for kids of all ages. Focusing on prevention. We offer:

In collaboration with the American Dental Association, DCI participates in a day that provides free dental care to children in our community that do not have health insurance. This is DCI’s 7th year participating in the program.

We need dentists from all professions, hygienists, assistants, and non-dental professionals to join us by volunteering in this amazing annual event.

Our 2018 GKAS event will be held on Saturday, February 3.

DCI has been providing dental services to at-risk children in Sri Lanka since 2008. We have treated over 800 kids across the island since then and have donated more than $1,000,000 in charitable contributions.

We need both dental professionals and non-dental professionals to volunteer on our annual trips. To learn more information about all of our international trips, including Sri Lanka, visit our international trips page here

DCI operates a one year residential Dental Surgery Assistant (DSA) Training Program in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Girls, with little or no formal education, survivors of tragedy and poverty, often abused and neglected, are recruited from children’s homes and given an opportunity to train as dental assistants. Upon successful completion of the course the girls are employed in hospitals and clinics across Sri Lanka.

DCI also operates a full time dental clinic in connection with the training program. Staffed by a local dentist and two DCI DSA graduates, the clinic provides dental services to the community free of charge

Serah, a graduate of our first Class, who lost her mother at a young age, describes her experience, “When I came here, I was just like a blind girl, I didn’t know what to do, I had no idea for my life, then after, I have my idea, now I can be a good assistant, a professional dental assistant.”

Nitharshini, who spent years in a refugee camp, thanks her sponsor in a simple sentence, “So you gave me eyes.” Read her words here.

Serah and Nitharshini, and the graduates that follow them, can break the cycle of poverty, change the course of their lives and make their corner of the world a better place. DCI believes in power of Serah and Nitharshini, and young women like them. We hope you do too.

To date 46 young women have gone through our DSA Training Program with another 9 set to graduate in August 2018

To sponsor a DSA student is $2,400. This covers full board accommodations in our Residential Training Center (RTC) and education. To become a life changing hero for one of our young students please email dane@dcare.org for more information.
